CONTRACTORS ALL RISKS
Advice on Contractors All Risks Insurance
Contractors All Risks is an insurance policy specially designed for builders and a number of other construction trades. Contractors All Risks Insurance includes cover for contract works such as damage to the project being worked on, own plant, hired-in plant and employee’s tools.
Why do I need contractors all risk insurance?
The main purpose of contractors all risks insurance is to make sure that your ongoing work on a construction site is covered. So, if there is an unforeseen event such as flood or fire, the contractor’s all risks insurance will pay to have the work repaired or re-done, meaning that you don’t end up out of pocket.
Does contractors all risk insurance cover defective workmanship?
Not all builders risk policies cover faulty workmanship or construction defects. Yours may contain a faulty workmanship exclusion, which would prevent coverage for these claims. Any defects which arise after the policy period has ended generally won’t be covered.
Are contractors liable for subcontractors?
Contractors and construction businesses often depend on subcontractors to complete specialized tasks or work on the job. Require subcontractors to have their own insurance coverage. Add subcontractors to your General Liability Insurance (aka Contractor’s Liability Insurance).
